VINTAGE, TRADITIONAL & CONTEMPORARY AREA RUGS
October 1st was a big day for the Murray family, we moved into a charming new home in a brand new city! Excitement and emotions have been on a happy high while our expectations were…basically way off. We were planning on adding a few pieces here and there, maybe replacing a rug or two, nothing crazy. Turns out, most of the furniture we’ve picked up over the past three moves just didn’t quite fit our new space. Instead of piecing things together, we decided to start from scratch! So, while our home might be empty… my mind is full of fabulous finds from weeks of searching for intentional pieces.
Fun Fact: This will be our first long-term home! Each stop before this was a quick two year stop.
With a whole house of fresh new spaces to fill and an internet of options, I’ll admit… I was a little overwhelmed. Something about having a blank canvas and the opportunity to create whatever you want, made me really think, what is it that I want? What’s my style and its purpose? I love so many designs and found myself spending hours a day on my laptop, browsing endless options —a terrible strategy, guys! It’s impossible to make a decision when you don’t know what you’re looking for. BUT in the process of looking through hundreds of pages of rugs… I decided to save the best ones to share with you!
This is a mixture of vintage, traditional and contemporary rugs that I simply LOVE. If I had enough rooms—and money— I’d use each and every one of them! One problem I ran into was finding two that complimented each-other. Our first floor is open concept, so a living room rug that flowed well with the kitchen runner was important. My top 12 rugs below all pull the same color schemes and would pair perfectly if you’re having the same problem!

A FEW MORE PLACES TO LOOK
In case you haven’t found exactly what you’re looking for— I’ve been there! I’ll leave a list of the places I’ve been looking and loving lately. Magnolia is a little pricier but their rugs are amazing. Mcgee & Co. has a wonderful selection too but I found one cheaper on Rugs USA so just double check to see if you can find a better price. I had the most luck at Mcgee & Co., One Kings Lane, Magnolia and Rugs USA. But, they are all worth checking out!
