NYFW FALL 2018 RECAP
I’m still pinching myself to be honest…I’ve always followed along, drooling over the outfits, shows and events that take over New York City in September each year. But to be hailing cabs and sitting on runways myself was all too surreal! Even with the constant rain, my 4-day experience at NYFW was a joyful mixture of exciting fun and complete exhaustion. There truly is no time to sleep or eat… we were grabbing bagels and cappuccinos for the road by day and totally vegging out at our Park South Hotel restaurant —in our PJ’s while editing— by night. With shows being so spread out this year, we weren’t sure where to call home and run to 3 times a day for wardrobe changes. Then we found this gem, the Park South Hotel in the Lower East Side was actually perfect! Charming space, plenty of room to unpack 3 overstuffed Fashion Week suitcases with…. a restaurant, coffee shop, and rooftop! We realized how wonderful those were when we didn’t need to jump in cab—again— to get some killer food or a good view. Sigh of relief! I’m still catching my breath but excited to share my experience and, of course… all the outfits with you!
MY FASHION WEEK CREW
I was strutting the NYC streets with a few friendly faces you might recognize from the Joyful Gathering Castle Retreat back in February. Bronwyn of Basically Bronwyn, Shelby of Pretty and the Pines, and I took NYC by storm together! We even snuck in an outing with Caroline of LCB Styles over tartines and cocktails at Tartinery—which by the way is amazing! You know it’s good when you go for an hour and stay for 3 catching up over crafty cocktails. As I like to say… d r e a m y! These gals are such a light in my life and this industry. It was so nice to laugh our way through the craziness of NYFW together!
A FEW FUN FACTS
You learn a lot about people sharing cabs, hotel rooms and clothes for a few fast-paced days. Bronwyn doesn’t leave without her trusty bottle of hand sanitizer. Shelby rode shotgun in all our cabs, carsickness in NYC is no joke! Me… I spill e v e r y t h i n g. FYI.
