LIFE IN FULL BLOOM
This week, life was in full bloom! Relationships, our home, even the trees in Nashville are busting at the seams with fresh spring life. I managed to squeeze about a month of socializing and community building into one week. It happened to be the 7 days Gus was out of town and I was going to be secluded to my laptop, Leroy and the city I only know a handful of people in. Then BOOM. My calendar was suddenly full with out of town visitors, lunch dates, drinks, events, and shoot with my sweet friend Leah (she snapped these on our afternoon together!) There literally wasn’t a day when I was alone for more than maybe 3 hours. —introverts reading this are probably cringing and breaking out in a sweat right now— but it was just what I needed. To take the focus off of me and my “to-dos”. Something about society makes us feel like we have to be busy and behind or we aren’t doing enough. The whole glorifying hustle thing we do all too naturally. Or at least I do, it’s like a reflex. Well, thank the Lord for putting people in my life that will draw me out and into the light to experience life and joy as He had planned. I’m so refreshed, inspired, and ready for a day at home to put it to use.
Speaking of home, we did get our new loveseat—yay!— and have an 80% finished living room now. Watching this house become our home has been so much fun and some days… when my coffee is perfect, the sun is pouring into the kitchen and Gus and I are sipping our embers to Nora Jones, I could almost cry. When I picture my happy place, it’s mornings here with the husband or hosting company—which also happened this week. I can’t wait to finish it and share it with y’all!
FRESH AFFORDABLE SPRING FASHION
If you’ve been here for a while. You know I have expensive taste and I’m far from a bargain shopper. But so many of the pieces catching my eye lately have been under $100—looks like our wallets can be in full bloom too! This price point is probably my favorite, because I know I’m getting quality pieces, with intentional design —the details, the cuts, the fabric… they totally matter to me! I made a post about spring trends for 2019 and now I’ve gathered all my favorite finds under $100 to hopefully make any hunting you’re doing easy peasy!
WHERE TO LOOK
Y’all have probably seen VICI on every blogger on your feed. They have pages of on trendy pieces that won't break the bank and 20% off right now with code DREAMS20. (In my cart: this sweater, this layered necklace, this polka-dot skirt)
There is an online boutique called Sugarlips —I just posted this dress from there— and almost everything is under $50 plus I can get y’all 15% off with code WestOfFelicity15. Or use HELLOSPRING for %25 of day dresses!
I’ve always loved ZARAS chic designs. I haven’t loved their history in fast fashion but honestly, don’t know enough right now about them or what changes they’ve made. They do have super unique and chic styles that are on your spring wish list though. (This bag , this sweater, and this dress are in my cart)
Most of Levis denim is $98 and never go out of style! Such a classic brand. The jeans I wear all the time that y’all are their 501 Skinny Hangouts - which seem to be sold out. BUT there are other 501 styles and this one is super similar, plus that have BOGO 50% off here right now!
Charlie Holiday is a brand I just discovered they are right up my alley! This polka dot one-piece and mini dress feel so classy and vintage with a modern twist. Looks like they are selling out quick though!
Olive + Pepper is another online boutique that is under $100 only!
Alice & Wonder was my favorite boutique in Chicago! Lucky for me, they have an online shop full of affordable trendy finds!
My go-to for woven bags and hats have always been Hat Attack. They are probably the most affordable brands I’ve found!
