PUNTA CANA PARADISE
If you've been following along on Instagram, you've seen my dear friend Jules, of Om and the City and I frolicking around in the Dominican Republic. Not the entire Island though, this trip was less about the adventure and more about taking it slow and actually relaxing. We both have a tendency to hardcore explore – Jules was my Bali adventure partner too – so, to ease our itch to go, go, go we stayed at a resort that had everything we needed! The furthest we walked was through the luscious resort to the beach, passing all kinds of tropical treasures along the way. Oh, and the best part, the resort has endless privileges... that's right endless! So naturally, we had champagne flowing, cappuccinos on the hour and more coconuts than I could count. I'm well aware I'm a beverage obsessed individual, anyone else like having something to sip on... constantly? I'd love to grab a coffee with ya! We didn't stop with the drinks, the food was fabulous and I had a butler for the first – and probably only– time in my life. José made our stay so welcoming and brought an added layer of comfort to our warm weather escape in the Dominican.
I’ve been jet-setting pretty consistently since college and pretty much all of them have been wild adventures- complete with lots of transportation and logistics. Which is always worth it, but oh. my. goodness… I forgot how nice it was to just relax, rest and have a vacation centered in mindfulness. Zoetry is a wellness and spa resort, Jules and I knew we were in for a treat when the resort staff greeted us with warm towels and iced tea. Yes, please!
Jules and I felt right at home! With our names, literally on the door, we walked into a suite decorated with tropical leaves, flowers, fresh fruit and champagne on ice. Can you say vacay! José made sure we had everything we needed- he was so kind and helpful– and we opened our terrace doors ready to sink right into this tropical oasis.
A few fabulous perks; slippers and robes, of course, 24-hour room service, laundry and shoe shining, and a mini bar that never runs out! Say it with me… d r e a m y!
First stop, food. My journey started at 3:00 AM, so the thought of real food was too good to resist. We ordered room service to enjoy with our champagne and slipped into some resort wear. There are 6 restaurants and a swim-up bar ready to get the vacation vibes flowing. The food was part of the endless privileges so, dinners were 4-course meals (sometimes more), lunches were on the beach or by the pool and breakfast was either ordered to the room or at 2 of the restaurants – I recommend the pancakes and crepes!

This getaway was a nice reminder to slow down, look around and practice presence. It’s not one of my strengths, I’m much better at staying busy and squeezing in as much as possible. Which keeps me from focusing and distracted from what is truly important. So, I brought along Present over Perfect to dive into between “dreamstorming” with Jules. We packed some intention with us for a mindful vacation filled with sunshine and coconuts. I’d say it was a success, we had a lovely time! Thank you Zoetry Resorts for having us.
Thanks for reading everyone! If you’re not already planning to, I hope you have some time carved our to rest, replenish and be present!
