MY MOST LOVED ITEMS THIS DECEMBER
So the other morning I woke up… just a bit late, not my usual 5 alarms deep. In my mind, I was already #winning for the day. Motivated by my super soft fluffy slippers waiting for my feet to hit the floor and the matcha latte calling my name downstairs, I was excited for the day ahead. There are plenty of days I wake up overwhelmed and here I was smiling as I reached for my husband's ember (the temperature control mug that unexpectedly changed my life) and making mental plans for an afternoon facemask. I was feeling so happy, grateful, and joyful just all the above! And the first thing I do when I’m all stirred up like this is think about how to share it and spread the joy. So here we are!
I started thinking about the little things in life that brighten my day. Not that these things are the source of my joy, more the joy I have opens my heart to love and appreciate them in a way that delivers doses of happiness throughout my day… and gets me out of my comfy pile of pillows and blankets in the morning! These are the things I look forward to, use A LOT and have enjoyed most this month.
CONFIDENT, COMFORTABLE, AND COZY
In this cold and crazy month of December. I find myself drawn to the cozy, the comfortable, and the effortless.Craving a mixture of indulgences and wellness so there’s always room for one more Christmas cookie. I’d label December as confidently comfortable. Which for me looks like healthy hydrated skin —less make-up— and oversized and fluffy everything. So check out the list below that made my monthly mood, I hope this post brings you one more thing to enjoy and one more smile to share every day.
WINTER WISHLIST & DECEMBER FAVORITES
HYDRATING LIP BALM
My Lippe Balm from Drunk Elephantsis never out of reach. I taste great and keeps these little lips super hydrated. Clean, cruelty and petroleum free. Works like a dream!
It’s like a comforting treat that is pack full of green goodness and caffeine. I usually start my morning with one or have it as an afternoon treat. Matcha is a crushed up green tea leaf so you get considerably more health benefits from drinking it and when mixed with frothed cashew milk, it’s just delightful! I use the Soiree Matchaand Vital Proteins Matcha.
SUPER FLUFFY SLIPPERS!
I hate cold feet I love white fluffy things… so these slippers are a shoe in. They are very similar to the popular ones you’ve seen all over social media, but these are half the price (only $29) and faux fur (which I prefer unless I know exactly where it came from and how it was sourced.)
HYDRATING FACE MASK
Dry skin is a real issue for me, especially in the winter. My FarmacyHoney Potionis a renewing antioxidant and hydrating mask that has lasted a whole year! I use it just about every week and whenever I have friends over, we reach for it every time. It’s activated by heat and hydrates like crazy! Favorite mask of all time!
The emblem of casual comfort. I finally treated myself to the Frye Sneakers and am over the moon for them! I wear them all the time and they’re crazy comfortable. It’s also a staple that I can wear all year long so extra points for that.
This was my husbands Christmas gift last year and I only just tried it when we were short on mugs the others day.I’ll never sip the same! The Emberis a mug that you set to your ideal drink temp. and it keeps it there while you enjoy it, genius. I’ve never been one to care about my drink temperatures and I’m a super slow sipper… but when my coffee was steaming for every little sip, not gonna lie it was way better and more enjoyable.
I’ve honestly wanted to wear this every day. I think I might even order a few more so I can. These sherpa pullovers are so cute, cozy, and effortlessly trendy right now. Since the one I have is sold out, I’ll leave a few below!
FAUX LEATHER LEGGINGS
They’re trendy, they’re comfortable, and they go with everything. What’s not to love! Much of my December wardrobe has been my blackCommando leather leggings(also here) and an oversized sweater. They have that desirable leather shine to them too, very sleek!
If you follow in stories, this is what you see in the background of all my “Quiet Time” posts. It’s the Quest Study Bible, which is a normal bible, just lined with notes and answered questions that help me understand the language and context better. I had a hard time getting into my bible before this baby! I’ll admit it’s not the cutestes on the outside but the inside is what counts here. I’ve also been interested in trying the She Reads Truth Bible, I love their online resources and devotionals.
FACE TANNING OIL
This should honestly be #1. I don’t think I’ll ever live without it! I put 2-3 drops of this Isle of Paradise Tanning Oilin my face lotion at night a few times a week and VLOIA I have a natural healthy glow. I use the teal and this little bottle will last me at least 6 months. For my body, I use the mouse with a glove and it has no smell or 8 hour waiting time.
ONE HOPE WINES
You’ve seen me talk about One Hope Winein a few posts and stories but I just love this company, wine, and mission. Each bottle carries hope for a different cause… and the wine is amazing! Their Cabernet is my favorite wine in general and supports children with autism. It’s that extra mile that makes me love and not just like this company. I’ve been stocking up ever since.
FASHION FINDS & INSPIRATION
Personally, I love exploring new designers and styles. I stumbled across quite a few lables that caught my eye over and over again this month. Have you ever heard of I Love Mr. Mittens? It was new to me and now the inspiration behind all my oversized sweater outfits, the chunkies sweaters I’ve ever seen.
I don’t think I’ve ever come across a brand that crushes winter styles quite as well as Free People. They manage to have just the right amount of comfort, style and texutres to their peices that make them so dreamy for layering.
Mango is another favorite of mine. They have such chic and unique peices at affordable prices.
Apparis crushed the coat game this season. I love how beautifully they used colors and faux furs in this cozy winter coats…stunning!
Spent a lot of time with Splendid this month. After falling in love with my striped PJ set I did some digging and they have all the effortlessly, tredy essesntial I’d been craving this month.
You’ve seen me sporting The Native One all month long. They are a small local boutique in Cincinnati (close to where I grew up) that has such fun and unique pieces. Most everything I’ve worn is uner $50 and so darn cute. I love them!
Cozy knits, and cool coats to cuddle up in, I’ve been visiing the Line & Dot designs a lot this month. They’ve been restocking and selling out and a few fabulous pieces and I think nya’ll will really enjoy what they have.
This cardigan I’m wearing should also be on my list…I wear it way too much! I’ve had it for about a year and Anthro just restocked it, YAY! To shop anything in from this post, just look below or to the bold words above. Happy December friends, I hope it’s been merry and bright for you! .
