A TRANSITIONAL TREND BLAZING TRAILS FOR SPRING FASHION
Fresh off the press… It’s SPRING! Cue, awkward happy dance! Side note, I’ve seriously considered joining a hip hop class of some sort in hopes that one day, I’ll look half as good as I feel when I’m bustin’ a move. But until then, it’s time to break out the shorts, sundresses, and let those ice cream trucks lose. We kind of live in a neighborhood now so, I have this faint feeling one will jingle by, I’ll get a rainbow snow cone and my childlike heart will do a little dance of its’ own. Speaking of shorts, I found the best pair of cut off denim high rise shorts from Agolde! They hug your waist, not your thighs and don’t give you that short shorts look, even for us long-legged lassies! I’ve struggled with my clothes showing a little too much leg for years, these denim shorts are a win!

THE BLAZER EDITION
Now the real reason we’re here. The Boyfriend Blazer! The tailored piece that makes every look, look effortlessly chic. There are a few things you can wear with both cutoff shorts and trousers. No wonder this trend that’s always in style.
Lulus has a great selection of blazers too. I couldn’t include them in the roundups below!
My favorites have patterns like tweed, plaid, houndstooth, and herringbone. The ones that look like they could have been your grandpas or boyfriends —pending your man is super stylish and old school— and magically has this feminine twist that fits you just a touch oversized. That’s the look I love! Since my grandpa needs his jackets, and my husband doesn’t have any…I’ve turned the fashion gurus of the world who knew there were ladies like me out there, boyfriend blazerless. I’ve made a killer collection of favorites below!
I go kinda crazy over textures. Especially come spring and summer, linen gives me goosebumps! I love the rawness of it. These are my favorite finds where you can see the difference in the weave of the fabric. Mostly a collection of linen, velvet, and corduroy pieces.
After all, it is spring —feels good to even type!— and pastels put an extra pep in my step. Brights are of course, in for the season so I couldn’t help but dedicate a section too them. I’ve been particularly drawn to the light pinks and yellows.
Hope this collection helps you blaze your own trail of Spring trends.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
People ask me where I get my inspiration from? I can’t ignore the impact Pretty Woman has had on my life. As silly as it sounds, Julia Roberts wardrobe in that movie is my ideal. The last time I watched it with Gus, he told me afterward, I smiled the entire time. I’m not even surprised. The movie is the perfect blend of sophistication, class, and realness. I don’t need the billion dollar lifestyle, but I certainly appreciate the amount of detail and design incorporated into it.
Would I faint over a date night on a private jet to our box seats at the opera across the county? Of course. Are my expectations going to be skewed for the rest of my life? Probably.
But ultimately, my consistent inspiration stems from textures and colors. Contrast, monochromes, furs , fringe and linens… they give me butterflies and my passion for fashion. When I saw this raw edge and textured top in “my color” —we’ll get to that— there were fireworks, each spark with a new idea on how to enjoy and share them A spark for the neck scarf, a spark for the exposed bobby pins and the high waisted button up denim. Stying outfits is like putting on a show for myself that I’ll enjoy all day, even longer if I capture it on camera and share it with y’all. So that’s what I did!
TEXTURED PONCHO TOP
This textured poncho top is from a local Atlanta business called B.Y.C —Before You Collection— and comes in… all the colors! I was drawn to this rich blue tone for the contrast I could give it with blush and white. It’s almost a neutral, so naturally, I LOVE it. “The tuck” is every so easy too, not bulky at the bottom so it slips right into high waisted denim, skirts, even loungewear. The most appealing aspect though, is the raw edge on the sleeve and neckline. That detail makes all the difference! Also if you’re working to support local brands, I really love this one! Their main focus is making meaningful relationships with what they crate, which happens to balance comfort and eye-catching. I can officially confirm on both ends, they’re killing it!
CURRENT COLOR PALETTE | BLUE & BLUSH
If you follow along in stories, we installed our cabinets last night— over a pot of chili and much appreciated teamwork. So I put together the most darling bouquet of my life with the local florist down the street to celebrate the pure joy of new cabinet doors. It was then I realized I’m completely drawn to a particularly trendy color scheme. The deep dusty gray blue, cool blush and natural white tones. It’s in my kitchen, on my body and now my bouquet… it’s the perfect mixture of down to earth and intentional design. Coincidental contrast vibing with Pretty Woman, I think not! The blue brings a welcoming deepness while the blush shines chic and bright.
Today was full of so much joy because our home is coming together and we finally got a glimpse of what it’s going to look like. Dreams are coming to life and I’m so thankful for this space to share them with y’all! Shout out to B.Y.C for sponsoring this posts and helping me share this blue hue with y’all! I listed a few stores below that sell this Gauze Poncho top!.
SOAK UP THE BEST OF SCOTTSDALE
So, Scottsdale was a spontaneous trip for me. I wasn't sure what to expect but it only took a few hours out and about looking for lunch to realize, this city is AWESOME! Camelback Mountain overlooks the city — y’all know mountains are my favorite—and hotels, shops, and restaurants are all down one street so you can bounce around experiencing everything with ease. I think our most used phrase was “ I wish we had a few more days here.” Scottsdale is a great getaway because you can do it all without the crowds and prices of a big city. I’m talking views via hot air balloon, relaxing resorts, fresh food, and events. This is the spot!
I’m already dying to go back with so much to scout our for y’all and so little time., I could have used just one more day. Molly, Meghan and I were like wild women for the 2 1/2 days we were there. Finding, capturing, and sharing all we could, there was even some appropriate animal print involved. Scottsdale so to enjoy, I hope these recommendations help you to soak it all up!

WHERE TO STAY
THE ANDAZ — This is where we unpacked for a few days in paradise. The resort is set up like bungalows, each having a few rooms making it great for groups and privacy. I loved our mid-century desert themed room and the cactus-lined walk to the pool— where we hung out quite a bit. Fun fact, it’s heated to a refreshing temperature, especially helpful for our February trip. We loved our stay here honestly, the staff was so incredibly kind and helpful and the resort is stunning! It right down the street from shops and restaurants, looks out on Camelback mountain and has all the perks of a great restaurant and spa.
THE OAKLEY B&B — This boutique BnB changed my life. Or at least was a pretty darn good picture of what I want life to look like in my next home. They didn’t miss a beat! There are 4 bedrooms with a loft that has two additional twin beds. The master bathroom and more specifically bathtub is so spacious and stunning with its fringed towels and fiddle leaf fig. Did I mention there is a pool (heated), surround sound and entire backyard set for entertaining? Well, there is! This would be a great place to gather with friends or for family getaway and it just a few minutes from all the restaurants.l
HOTEL ADELINE — We didn’t get to visit, but just about everyone we spoke to recommended it. It seems to have a cool modern retro vibe going with bright white, leather and pops of colors. The pool area and restaurant bar look fabulous too, everything is very aesthetically pleasing. Also, it’s dog-friendly if you’re traveling with your furry friend!
WHERE TO EAT
There is no shortage of restaurants, each with their own fresh food and unique aesthetic.
THE MONTAUK — This was my favorite restaurant! It has an east coast beach vibe with white wicker and wood, sprinkle in a little velvet and tiled fireplace outside and voila, picture perfect! We swung by for a drink after brunch and there was great acoustic live music playing. If you want a darling place to relax and enjoy some food and drinks, this is it!
FARM & CRAFT— Right in the middle off all the quaint shops and restaurants is Farm + Craft. Super fresh food with fun drinks. If you ask me, the best of both worlds. You could easily keep it clean and healthy or indulge, pending your vacation cravings.
WEFT & WARP ART BAR + KITCHEN — Inside the Andaz, overlooking the pool with a warm and modern design. We enjoyed a little happy hour snacking here and savored every bite of their locally inspired southwest styled cuisine. I also might have had my favorite cocktail yet! Y’all know I’m a scotch lover and I typically like it on the rocks and don’t enjoy it in cocktails or mixed drinks. We’ll out super sweet waitress talked me into their "penicillin" cocktail made with scotch and it was to die for! So refreshing didn’t even really have a scotch taste so I think everyone should try it, scotch lovers and haters!
HASH KITCHEN — Straight up the biggest bloody marry I’ve ever seen. The best part is, you get to pick and customize the toppings — 4 bacon piece, please! If you’re hungry and feeling lively, this is your spot. There’s a DJ that comes in and flights of cereal shots (that taste just like fruity pebbles and captain crunch milk) but the line starts at 10 AM so get there early. Or don’t and enjoy your bloody in the parking lot, because you totally can!
Enjoy your Scottsdale adventure! If you have any questions I could help answer, just comment below!

Looking for that perfect desert destination? I’ve got you! I was craving a little sun, sand and cacti myself so we jetted off to Palm Springs for a few days. One, because an international vacay was just not an option at the moment and Palm Springs vintage vibes were calling my name!Read More
Who else is ready to jump out of their seat, into an airplane and jet off someplace nice and warm!? I’m standing on my chair with both hands in the air!I feel like I can’t complain about being a bit chilly here in Nashville when Chicago is -12° and buried in snow and ice. BUT that is one of the reasons we moved here, so I should be thankful it’s a mere 26° here in “the south.” I’m sending prayers for safety and warmth to everyone up north!
If you’re one of the lucky ladies who happened to plan a vacation during the cold front… high five girl! Let’s pack those bags and hit the freakin’ road. Gus and I leave for Scottsdale and Palm Springs on Friday for a little belated anniversary adventure. Our first vacay together since our honeymoon! I’ve been dreaming of chic resort wear and woven everythingsince we bought our tickets and am finally organized enough to share it with y’all!
My vibe for this round is vintage chic!
WOVEN WONDERS - Hats, visors, bags, and shoes! Make all my accesories woven and bamboo please :) Most of my hats and bags are from Hat Attack. I’m also obsessed with everything from Ulla Johnson right now. Their shoes, bags, dresses… basically everything is so unique and calling name. Saving up a pair of her sandals right now! This little net bag I’m holding is from Kayu , I think you’ll really love all their bags and a few are on sale too!
THE SUNDRESS - I just found this brand called Posse and love everything they design. It’s an Australian label reconstructing vintage pieces and they are stunning! I ordered this white dress I’m packing from there but florals, ruffles, and polka dots are all a good idea. I linked a few options below! There’s even a brand called Sundress that makes classy and colorful pieces too!
HAIR SCARFS & HEAD WRAPS - Every outfit is better with these babies. Tie them to your braids, buns, bags…anywherea and everywehre. I’m bringing at least 5!
STATEMENT EARRINGS - I went with a wooden, white and colorfully blue pair to mix and match all week.
HIGH WAISTED SHORTS - Gotta have ‘em. These are a few years old from Zara but classic. For denim, Levi’s are the bomb! I have their 501 shorts I’m packing too.
SWIMSUITS - I have a full Swimwear Roundup here with all my favorites from the season!

MY INTENTIONAL MINDSET
It all started when we moved into our new house. New home, new city… blank slate! Kind of like the feeling of a new year. I was determined not to overcomplicate and clutter our lives. My mind flashes to overstuffed closets, furniture that only serves to take up space and time spent on pointless pursuits. Theses thoughts… are mistakes I’ve made, not once, not twice, but over and over again. The perfectionist in me is always wanting, changing and forcing excess. More work, more things, more new…Read More
LAST MINUTE NYE OUTFITS | 2 DAY SHIPPING
My plan for New Year's Eve this year is to be in the hospital…cheering my sister on through her first baby’s birth! Who knows what God has in store for timing, but January 1st is her due date and we cannot wait to welcome this sweet baby into the world. I’ll probably be wearing some cozy loungewear —just ordered some Z Supply for the occasion—at the Lake House waiting for the big moment or in some scrubs yelling push… we’ll see! So my sparkle this year will be in the form of little baby eyes opening for the first time. BUT I collected some show stoppers to help y’all sparkle and shine just in time if you’re like me… and looking for something fabulous to start 2019 in at the last minute.Read More
3 PANTS FOR COMFORTABLY CHIC STYLE
I’m quickly getting to know my way around Nashville! Living in a lovely new city in the fall, we can’t help but explore as much as possible. LIFE UPDATE | NOVEMBER 2018
It’s so interesting to see how life unfolds and where it takes you. Does anyone else feel like they’re constantly surprised with where they are and what they’re doing? At this point, planning ahead seems kinda silly. If you had told me 6 months ago, I’d be living in a brand new city and darling home, working side by side with my husband, I would have thought you were wonderfully imaginative…. 1. It seems absolutely impossible. 2. That sounds like my very own dream, how did you know that!?Read More
STAND OUT THIS SEASON!
I think it’s pretty clear, I’m a creature of habit. I know what I like, and that’s shelves and shelves of soft neutral tones! The white, the black, the gray, I can’t get enough. I’ve added a new version of the same cozy beige sweater to my shopping cart at least a hundred times… this month. Then all the sudden, something clicked and I decided to spice things up. That’s right, bypass my chunky sweater for a snake print midi dress, what!?Read More
Believe it or not, I’ve been drinking matcha since my early high school years. Before it was made into lattes, collagen blends and the whole craze kicked in! I was what they called a tea enthusiast… with shelves and baskets of tea tins, gadgets., and looses leaves teas of every kind.. Each tea type is picked and prepared differently with unique health benefits and flavors and matcha is the best of the best. The cream of the tea crop!Read More
NYFW FALL 2018 RECAP
I’m still pinching myself to be honest…I’ve always followed along, drooling over the outfits, shows and events that take over New York City in September each year. But to be hailing cabs and sitting on runways myself was all too surreal! Even with the constant rain, my 4-day experience at NYFW was a joyful mixture of exciting fun and complete exhaustion.Read More
PRE-FALL PRINTS & PATTERNS
Seasons are shifting and patterns are popping up everywhere. I might be a little too excited for fall to settle in. The knits, scents, cool temps, and layers get my heart jumpin' every year. Since it's still August and 90° we wont jump too far ahead but let's talk pre-fall prints! They're transitional, fun, and the easiest way to put a strong fashion foot forward. Slip on a polka dot dress, some leopard shoes, or plaid blazer and you're officially leading the fashion pack.Read More
PEACEFUL OVER PERFECT
I've had the topic of "balance" on my list for a while now. Waiting for the day I had it all together so I could unleash my new found secret to a happy and well-balanced life. Where no one was disappointed, I was never late and could handle everything on my plate perfectly, with all the pieces of my life in tip-top shape. Well, that day...never came! Nope. Not even close y'all. What did come is better, and way more realistic; a shift in perspective. One that helped me find balance in peace instead of perfection.Read More
BUILDING BLOCKS | THE NEW WEST OF FELICITY
I've posted about my feelings on fear before, it's a real love-hate relationship. To sum it up, I'm afraid of failure, rejection, wasted time, and approval, but I've learned to let it guide me instead of control me. Not immediately of course, continual prayers for discernment and ultimately seeing the consequences of giving fear control led me to an entirely NEW PERSPECTIVE!Read More

PUNTA CANA PARADISE
If you've been following along on Instagram, you've seen my dear friend Jules, of Om and the City and I frolicking around in the Dominican Republic. Not the entire Island though, this trip was less about the adventure and more about taking it slow and actually relaxing. We both have a tendency to hardcore explore – Jules was my Bali adventure partner too – so, to ease our itch to go, go, go we stayed at a resort that had everything we needed! The furthest we walked was through the luscious resort to the beach, passing all kinds of tropical treasures along the way. Oh, and the best part, the resort has endless privileges... that's right endless! So naturally, we had champagne flowing, cappuccinos on the hour and more coconuts than I could count. I'm well aware I'm a beverage obsessed individual, anyone else like having something to sip on... constantly? I'd love to grab a coffee with ya! We didn't stop with the drinks, the food was fabulous and I had a butler for the first – and probably only– time in my life.Read More
