What a pleasure it was to celebrate joyful living with a rooftop full of amazing women in my very own city! With the move south sneaking up on us—only one week away!— I was determined to design a gathering for all my Windy City babes. We’ve been chatting on Instagram, watching life unfold pic by pic, and it was time to greet you with a smile and a hug. So thanks for showing up! I’m so honored and grateful this gathering sold out, y’all are just the absolute BEST!

Chicago pulls on my heartstrings with its skyline, rooftops, and restaurants. But it doesn’t stop there… intentions, obligations, and opportunities are all being tugged and stretched to a fast-paced, city living hustle. I feel like I’m on the go… All. The. Time. .Honestly, I kinda like it! But if I don’t prioritize and fuel my body, it simply can’t keep up. I can feel the difference in the morning when I reach for my alarm and this month of living in limbo has been an eye-opener to the impact of neglecting my healthy habits. I wake up drowsy, run down, sick and sluggish, instead of excited and motivated. When my body is balanced I literally wake up happy! —And I’m not a morning person!— So, I dreamed up this gathering to encourage you to fuel your body so it can carry the crazy hustle, joyfully!

This babe knows balance! Carla Jian is a Holistic Health Coach, Yoga Instructor, Blogger, wife, and mother. I wish we were neighbors so I could take notes and pick her brain! Instead, I thought it’d be more fun to invite her into the Balance Series, to share her expertise and an intentionally designed yoga flow with our guests! I personally NEEDED this after a month of moving around, she killed it! Carla teaches multiple classes a week around Chicago and offers one-on-one sessions. She shares her schedule in her stories along with a handful of helpful healthy tips!

I don’t have hours to dedicate hours to the gym every day. Just need an handful of healthy habits that make me feed good! My favorite 5 are : Getting enough sleep, running a few times a week, stretching or yoga, drinking water and collagen, and face masks! Anything else is bonus, but this is what my body needs. Sometimes I multitask and sneak them in while I’m working or between to-do’s. But when I do decide they are a priority, not gonna lie, I enjoy everything else a little more!
