Nothing sounds better than a day in Paris! We have visitied the city a few times and each time we enjoy it more and more. On the Rives de la Sein is where Gus proposed, so we have a sentimental attachment, at least I do!
After our train ride through Germany to Paris we unpacked and hopped on the metro toward the Louvre. We walked aimlessly down the streets across from the museum, stumbling by some beautiful buildings, parks and quaint cafés. Sometimes getting lost is the best way to find what your looking for!
The next morning brought on a beautiful day! We enjoyed some espresso from our Airbnb host and then we were off to take on the day. Of the times we have been to Paris, we never went to the top or the Arc de Triumph, and I was in the mood for a good view!
The 6 hour time change and windy stairs of the Arc de Triumph meant it was time for a cappuccino! We refreshed at a nearby café then headed back toward the river and found ourselves by the Conciergerie. This was a prison during the French Revolution. It's a beautiful building that sits right on the river!
For lunch we packed a picnic to enjoy on the grass by the Eiffel Tower. Fresh French goods from a local market and a sausage left for us by our apartment host made for a decadent snack! We stopped for a bottle of wine on our way and the store clerk was nice enough to pop the cork and supply us with glasses. That was the perfect ending to our day in Paris.
