WHERE TO STAY IN LUCERNE SWITZERLAND | HOTEL DES BALANCES
I’ve talked about my darling visit to Lucerne in this post, but when your room is an experience of its own… there’s just no time to sleep and much more share! We stayed at the BEAUTIFUL Hotel Des Balances right on Lake Luzern and it took our entire experience to the next level. One of class, hospitality, and pure amazement!
Strolling from the cobblestone right into the rich wooden and white lobby, we were greeted with friendly faces and welcome drinks from the bar, unexpected and ideal! The cocktail lounge is just below the lobby and level with the water, very chic. A menu of classic and craft cocktails is at your disposal, I chose the French Martini and it was just delicious! While settling into the white and marble room (my favorite) fresh fruit, champagne, and chocolate were delivered to the door… and the fun began! It’s these little gestures that make a great experience extraordinary.

There’s a selection of tasty breakfast items to enjoy either in your room or their stunning restaurant. We decided to enjoy ours on the balcony, since we knew we’d be oversleeping… Fresh squeezed juice, latte macchiato’s, and the most amazing pancakes (just a few of my favorites) were delivered to the room. A lovely and tasty way to start the day! In the event you need an extra cappuccino for an adventurous day, there is a Nespresso in the room for your convenience too. Woohoo!
If you’re adventuring to Lucerne I cant recommend this hotel enough!
When I walked in the room, my eyes when straight to the balcony! We were on the 1st floor, above the lobby and bar so practically the third level so it had a perfect view. The room had two bathrooms, a lounging area with couch and television, jacuzzi tub with it’s own person TV and sparkling skylights, and a bed of clouds. I‘m tempted to ask where their mattresses and pillows are from, because I want to sleep on them every night! The tabletops are white marble and the room was drenched in sunlight, it was spectacular!
After a heavy Italian dinner our first night in Lucerne, we returned to our slippers and robes for a good old fashion slumber party! Wine, more chocolate of course, Celine Dion (we found in the CD player in the room) and wonderful company… we had everything our Swiss Slumber party needed. With a room and staff as lovely as at Hotel Des Balances, we wanted to soak up every second. Which means we stayed up far too late, oops!
